Who We Are

The Georgia Forestry Foundation’s Forest Managment & Stewardship Assistance Program connects Georgia forest landowners with the technical assistance, resources, and expertise they need to manage their land. Our landowner outreach coordinators work across the state, offering direct, one-on-one support to new and experienced landowners alike. This program is made possible through support from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and the U.S. Forest Service.

What We Do

We’re here to help Georgia’s private forest landowners navigate their options, find trusted assistance, and take the next steps in managing their land. We provide direct technical assistance to landowners and connect them with contractors, as well as local, state, and federal resources. We support landowners with applications for cost share programs, conduct site visits, and offer guidance based on land management goals. Most landowners come to us with a specific question. From there, we review maps, visit the property, and build a step-by-step plan to help them reach their goals, whether that’s through timber management, wildlife habitat, prescribed fire, or legacy planning. Our role is not to replace a consulting forester or other land management professional. We help landowners identify and connect with the right trusted professional who can help put that plan into action and meet their long-term objectives.
