The Georgia Forestry Association’s Landowner Outreach program focuses on increasing forest management activities through outreach and education efforts. This includes hosting workshops, providing technical assistance, and developing a statewide landowner database in need of access to cost-share programs and conservation resources.

Comparison of Property Tax Incentive Programs in Georgia

Currently, there are 4 property tax incentive programs available to landowners in Georgia. Conservation Use Assessment (CUVA), Forestland Protection Act (FLPA), Qualified Timberland Property (QTP), and Agricultural Preferential Assessment. Each program differs slightly and is tailored to address different landowner needs.

Landowner Field Day – Culloden, GA

On March 10, forestry and land management professionals gathered in Culloden for an educational event that brought together more than 75 attendees for a full day of learning and collaboration. The event featured an Estate Planning Spotlight session, a Mill and Producer Roundtable, and several practical management discussions covering Longleaf Pine Management, Chemical Applications, and Burning for Birds. Attendees also had the opportunity to see technology in action during a Prescribed Fire Drone Demonstration.

Landowner Field Day – Butler, GA

On February 24, forestry professionals and landowners gathered for an educational event focused on practical forest and land management strategies. The program featured discussions on wildlife management, prescribed fire, and selling timber.
