Join Guido van der Hoeven, North Carolina State University Extension Specialist/Senior Lecturer Emeritus, for an overview of Timber Tax Basics from a Landowner’s Perspective. Topics of interest regarding timber being held as a long-term asset will include understanding differences between timber and wood products, the cost basis for timber which is needed to calculate any long-term gain on sale, and what deductions might be available to the landowner.
