Join The Longleaf Alliance and our partners for an exciting learn & burn workshop, ideal for landowners and land managers with minimal to no prescribed fire experience.

Attendees will:

• Participate in a live burn
• Use a drip torch and other tools of the trade
• Learn about prescribed burn techniques, burn plans, smoke management, fire weather,            liability laws, financial resources, and burn permits
• Ask questions to experienced professionals

What to Expect:

• Participants are required to sign a hold-harmless liability disclosure/waiver on the day of the event.
• Participants must expect to be an active part of the day walking on uneven ground and using/carrying tools.
• Participants must wear natural fiber (cotton, linen, silk, wool) pants and shirts. Leather boots are preferred. Participants are encouraged to bring eye protection and leather gloves.
• Participants are encouraged to bring a bandana, water bottle, and sunscreen.

In the event of rain, the workshop will be rescheduled from February 23 to March 4, 2022.
