Laura S. Walker Joint Learn & Burn/PBA Interest Meeting

This meeting will be at Laura S. Walker State Park in Charlton County on October 30th. 11:00 am – 4:00 pm.
A Prescribed Burn Association (PBA) is a landowner lead organization designed to facilitate landowners helping other landowners with prescribed fire. Whether it be through boots on the ground assistance, lending each other tools or expertise, prescribed burn planning, etc. Essentially, neighbors connecting with and helping one another on all things prescribed fire.
The PBA Interest Meeting will start in the morning and focus on discussing what a PBA is, and how it functions to help landowners conduct prescribed fire on their properties. After lunch, we will transition to a Learn and Burn Workshop where attendees will get the opportunity to hear from experienced prescribed fire professionals, learn about local resources available to landowners and get hands-on experience with conducting a prescribed fire.
We will meet in Group Shelter 3 at Laura S. Walker State Park. Doors open at 10:30, and we will begin at 11:00.
Lunch will be provided for registered attendees.
Please bring leather boots and natural fiber clothes for the Learn and Burn Portion. We will have water as well, but we recommend you bring a water bottle and snacks if you would like.
