This meeting is open to private landowners, burn practitioners, agency partners, volunteers, and anyone interested in prescribed fire and land management. Whether you have years of experience with prescribed fire or are simply interested in learning more about how it can benefit your property, we’d love to have you join us!

We will hear from several speakers about prescribed burn associations, wildlife and forest management, the ecological role of fire, longleaf pine history and conservation, and a landowner’s first hand experience using prescribed fire to meet management goals.

Following our meeting, Adrienne Ernst, Professor of Environmental Science and Studies at Berry College, will lead a tour of Berry College’s longleaf pine restoration areas beginning at 1:15 PM. This will be a great opportunity to see longleaf management and the benefits of prescribed fire on the landscape.
