Brantley County High School’s FFA chapter captured the 2026 National Forestry Career Development Event championship, marking the fifth consecutive year a Georgia FFA chapter has won the national title.

The team competed against 40 state champion teams at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, demonstrating the technical knowledge and hands-on skills needed to succeed in forestry and natural resources.
Brantley County FFA also earned individual honors. Camille Anderson claimed the individual national championship, Kaleb Crawford finished second overall, and Jonathan Crews placed fifth. Sierra Edwards rounded out the team with a top-20 finish. Anderson and Crawford also recorded the highest scores in tree identification, while Anderson led the competition in sawtimber estimation.
Developing the Next Generation of Forestry Professionals
The Forestry Career Development Event challenges students in areas including tree identification, timber measurement, forest disorders, wood products, topographic mapping, timber stand improvement and forest management calculations.
These competitions connect classroom learning with practical skills and introduce students to careers in forestry, forest products and natural resource management.
Georgia’s five-year run of national championships reflects the work of students, agricultural educators and supporters who help build the next generation of forestry professionals.
Congratulations to Brantley County FFA on this national achievement and for continuing Georgia’s tradition of excellence in forestry education.
