We are excited to welcome Gloria “Glo” Camacho-Stancliff as our new Marketing and Communications Director. In this role, Glo will be responsible for developing communications strategies and compelling content to support the growth and impact of programs and initiatives through the Georgia Forestry Association and Foundation.
Glo first became introduced to the Foundation through our partnership with Georgia Public Broadcasting. After producing two virtual learning journeys to educate students on working forests in collaboration with GFF — including Georgia Forests I and Georgia Forest II — Glo’s career pivoted in our direction. She decided that it was time to become a tree farmer herself and along with her husband and daughter, Glo purchased land in Southwest Georgia to invest in the industry she has grown to love.
“I am excited to be a part of the GFA family as a communicator to empower our members and the entire forestry community while strengthening the connection between our 22 million acres of working forests and the 11 million Georgians who depend on them,” said Glo. “My goal is to continue supporting the forestry community by highlighting the economic and environmental sustainability success story of Georgia as the number one forestry state in the nation.”
As a Regional Emmy-Winning Producer with more than 20 years of experience, Glo is grateful to have had an extensive career in media production. Originally from Miami and New York, she has worked on broadcast and digital content for various networks including scripted and unscripted series, specials, live events, and documentary films. In 2014, Glo branched out to create socially impactful media. This ultimately brought her to Georgia where she has produced for clients like GPB and the Georgia Department of Education and is now planting roots with the Georgia Forestry Association. Glo is passionate about producing content that can create change.
She and her family live northwest of Atlanta where they enjoy hiking, lake adventures, and gardening. A big part of their family-life is finding ways to support the local community of farmers, artisans, as well as sustainability efforts everywhere.
