GFA’s summer internship positions are a unique and exciting opportunity to step into the world of Georgia’s forestry industry. With over 22million acres of privately-owned working forests in the state of Georgia, the Association’s mission is to educate, empower, and engage audiences with Georgia’s working forests, while also advocating for the forest landowners and timber producers that provide us with a strong economy, a sustainable environment, and thousands of products that support our everyday life.
Communications Intern
The Georgia Forestry Association and Foundation Communications department’s primary role is to communicate key messaging through various channels including print, digital, video, and events. The role will support everything from content development to event production and it can be as fun as it is challenging. You will be creating content that can truly make a difference, not just in our state but throughout the nation, and even globally.

Policy & Economics Intern
The Georgia Forestry Association Advocacy department’s primary role is to work alongside Georgia’s policymakers to ensure that both state and federal legislation considers and protects forest landowners, supply chain members, and the overall forestry community. With along history of advocating for our working forests, and successfully helping to put into place measures that have bolstered the industry into what it is today, the GFA continues to ensure that Georgia’s working forests and the communities behind them are protected and valued.
