Georgia Forestry Magazine Winter Issue Highlights Landowner Legacy and Policy Priorities

Georgia Forestry Association members receive Georgia Forestry Magazine four times per year. The magazine brings together writers and leaders from the Georgia Forestry Association, Georgia Forestry Commission and Georgia Sustainable Forestry Initiative, and the dynamic content is focused on keeping you connected to resources and empowered to make good decisions about your forestland asset.

On the cover: GFA member Harry Sanders of Sanders Logging in Cochran, Georgia, who was recognized by GFA and the Southeastern Wood Producers Association as 2022-23 Georgia Logger of the Year and by Forest Resources Association as the 2023 Southern Region Logger of the Year.

In this issue:

  • GFA’s advocacy strategy focuses on addressing challenges with economic competitiveness
  • Landower profile on Jay Bailey in Morgan County
  • Landowner profile on the Parker Family in Long County
  • How the Georgia Forestry Commission delivers value to Georgia landowners
