Beasley Forest Products in Hazlehurst has agreed to buy BLC Hardwood Flooring and Wood Fiber Technologies in Macon.
Both of the transactions are expected to close in the next 30 to 60 days, according to a statement from Jason Delves, president of the two Macon companies, which are subsidiaries of Battle Lumber Co.
BLC Hardwood Flooring makes unfinished and prefinished solid wood flooring. Wood Fiber Technologies makes wood flour that is used as a base material for composite decking and similar products, foundry molds fire logs and other products.
“This acquisition is truly a positive for the region, and I am excited by what bringing Beasley to Macon as a new corporate citizen will mean for further economic growth and investment in the community” Delves said in the statement. “We currently employ approximately 135 employees in Macon … and plan for this number to grow significantly over the next two years under Beasley.”
The transaction, Delves said, “provides Beasley with new outlets for expanding production as the company continues to invest in new opportunities. “
Beasley Forest Products has hardwood sawmill operations in Georgia and Wisconsin that produce more than 250 million board feet of lumber each year. It also manages and owns wood pellet mills, a shavings plant and a power plant.
“This is a great addition to the Beasley family of companies, and we are excited about the opportunity to grow these businesses and to work closely with Macon-Bibb County to spur economic growth and investment in the community,” said Darrell Beasley, the CEO of Beasley Forest Products.
