The Emerging Leaders program is an all-volunteer group representing various sectors of the forestry community. The group typically meets four times a year, including meetings that coincide with Forestry Day at the Capitol and the GFA Annual Conference. In addition, the group is involved in a variety of fundraising projects and events such as the Georgia Forestry Foundation’s Annual Longleaf Classic Golf Tournament.
The Association’s Emerging Leaders Program has provided an excellent opportunity for me to jump start my career in the forestry industry. The program has allowed me to connect with other young professionals as well as seasoned veterans within the forestry community who share the same interests and values. I would highly recommend this program to all young professionals who are interested in becoming an advocate for Georgia’s working forests. This is an organization that has allowed me to grow both professionally and personally.
